What a terrible company. I saw their ad in BUST magazine. It's a boutique for larger women (14-30) and as I've been having a hard time with my weight, thought I'd check them out to see if I could get a top or something that would fit my post baby body. I see a cute shirt, get the smallest size (1x but I thought it wouldn't be so big). I get to check out and see that their shipping rates are for priority. Now, surely they can send it first class. It's cheaper for them AND the customer. I deal with mailing packages constantly. It's my business and I always try to make it cost effective for everyone involved.

So, I call B&Lu to see if they can offer first class. "Oh no, we only offer priority, it's Standard" she says. Fine.. I buy it anyway, paying $6.95 in addition, for shipping. I get the shirt a week later and notice right away that the shipping label they have on the package says in big letters: "First Class Mail" I'm already angry. I take the shirt out and it's HUGE. Ok, so maybe I'm not a size 14/1x. It's cotton material, but it's EXTREMELY scratchy. Not what you think of when you think of Cotton. I call them and ask why they shipped First Class when they said they woudln't do that. She basically tells me they get a percentage off shipping. Bad business, I say. Bad. And not to mention that they basically lie by telling you it's priority, when it's NOT.

So, I'm overall unhappy with the item and my shopping experience, and I put it right back in the envelope, get my own shipping label and send it back (after filling out the return paperwork, of course). I wait, and wait and wait.. Get the package back. WTF? The letter states that they cannot accept the return because there is yellow food spot on the inside? I DIDN'T EVEN WEAR IT! So, I'm out 25 bucks (because of shipping it back), I'm stuck with a shit shirt I'll never wear and a bad taste in my mouth from shopping at BandLu.com

Wow... I am sooo lucky right now to have a home. I've been homeless for the last four days, and what a whirlwind.. I'm so thankful for good friends that housed me (thanks eva!!! thanks julie!!) and to help distract me from the chaos of the unknown... I wasn't sure if I even had a house until 2 days into the tragic fires. Thanks to all the hot *cough* firemen and other men/women in uniform that are continuing to put these fires out.  I am actually home! Well... I'm not supposed to be, but they let us.. even tho I think they think we're coming back down the mountain. The fires aren't near us anymore, but they are still worried.

What a lesson in learning to let go. In the beginning of all this, I started to go through the things in my house that I would be sad about losing.. and I have TONS! insert-pack rat- here. I actually started to be OK with losing everything. Welcoming the change.. as drastic as it may be. It felt good! My heart started to relax; I wasn't so panicky... things just seemed like "stuff" to me that didn't matter anymore. In a sense, it's almost sad that we didn't lose everything, to actually force that letting go. But I have to say, having my own bed to sleep in tonight is rather exciting (Although! I did sleep in a tempurpedic bed last night, oh my gawd! *swoon*)

I'm so happy to be sitting next to my lemongina... If I lost her, I would, of course, be sad, but I have pictures... so it would be ok *le sigh* Well, that's about it! I'm safe! I'm a survivor!! wooooooooooooooooooo!! Ooh ooh AND I got interviewed FOUR times today-three TV one Radio.. so check me out if you're local! And er.. if you have tv....  :)

I woke up this morning with no eggs... I love my eggs for breakfast.. maybe that's why I have a fat ass? Nah.. they're great for protein! Right?? Anyway.. Ok, I have to toot my own horn for a moment, please. I believe in my blends, I do. They work wonders for many different ailments/problems/needs etc... I'm using Bitch Away right now, and it's saving my life! hehe But seriously.. Orion woke up at 1:30am when I was trying to lay down (after watching a movie-Stranger than Fiction-watch it!) and decided that he was going to scream for my boobs for the next two hours. I'm trying to night wean as I'm not getting much sleep these days. I understand toddlers will still wake, but damn if I can't have my body to myself for just 4 hours...Cuddling, now that's a different story... I digress... So, I remembered at 3am that I make calming blends of essential oils.. and one is specifically for kids! What the hell?? Why didn't I think of this 2 hours ago?!?!?! So I ran and grabbed my Calm It, Kid.. and rubbed some on his cheeks by his nose so he could smell and some on his temples.. and my god.. 5 minutes later I had a different child. He went from screaming bloody murder to making jokes and talking.. Still awake, mind you.. but he was CALM! ANNNND willing to cuddle.. soon after we went to sleep.. and it was lovely.. only to wake up 3 hours later.. *sigh* It won't cure my sleep problems, but it will help my sanity.

I love these mushrooms. I actually HATE to eat mushrooms... but I adore how they look! Especially just randomly in the ground (or stump!) This is my favorite stump in the world. People leave trinkets ie. shoes, toys, mini trees, packages....etc on this stump to notify others that it's been too long since they've talked! How awesome is that! :) I think it's cool anyway.. I used to dream up this romantic story that it was lovers that could only communicate through these items.. shoes etc.. then I found out! Anyway, anyway.. This stump was broken by a falling tree during a storm.. so it's smaller than it used to be.... okok okok ok okokok ok enough about the history of a stump..
